Ministerial plagiarism
Daily Mail reports:
Giving a speech in Canberra, Anthony Albanese, the Australian transport minister, launched an attack on Tony Abbott, the Liberal party opposition leader.
‘In Australia we have serious challenges to solve and we need serious people to solve them,’ he said. ‘Unfortunately, Tony Abbott is not the least bit interested in fixing anything. He’s only interested in two things – making Australians afraid of it and telling them who’s to blame for it.’
If you think that sounds a tad familiar, you’d be right.
In the 1995 movie The American President, President Andrew Shepherd, played by Michael Douglas, tore into his rival Bob Rumson.
‘We have serious problems to solve and we need serious men to solve them,’ Shepherd said. ‘And whatever your particular problem is, friend, I promise you, Bob Rumson is not the least bit interested in solving it. He is interested in two things and two things only – making you afraid of it and telling you who’s to blame for it.’
