Telegraph (London) reported a specter that is haunting Britain:

Only 39 per cent of adults sleep well, according to the the poll of more than 5,300 people who took part in the Great British Sleep Study.

The biggest problem is insomnia, with some 37 per cent of people suffering from an inability to get to sleep, or get back to sleep after waking in the night.

Another 24 per cent have another problem including teeth-grinding, sleeping too much and sleep apnoea, where the airway is temporarily obstructed and a person can struggle for breath.

If they can do it, we can do it bigger. BS reveals:

SleepCare Solutions, a Hyderabad-based sleep solutions enterprise, has launched country’s first independent sleep disorder testing facility here.

According to a recent survey, sleeping disorder is a common syndrome prevalent among most Indians, irrespective of their age group, said Dr Lavanya Gali, medical director of SleepCare.

According to a Philips survey, 93 per cent of Indians are sleep deprived (getting less than 8 hours of sleep), 58 per cent felt their work suffered from lack of adequate sleep, 11 per cent took leave from work because of lack of sleep and 11 per cent fall asleep at work.

SleepCare has tied up with Philips Healthcare to offer a comprehensive approach for diagnosis and treatment of adult sleep disorders.
