Z News reports:

A powerful blast on Wednesday rocked Allahabad’s Kareli locality claiming the lives of at least six persons, including four children and two women.

At least 15 people have also been injured in the explosion and six of them are said to be in critical condition.

Those injured in the blast have been rushed to nearby hospital for treatment.

Rushed is probably an inappropriate verb here, given the speed with which our emergency services react.

IBN Live added:

According to reports, most of the deceased are children. An eyewitness said that several children were playing near a garbage dump when the blast took place. He said that the injured have been admitted to a nearby hospital.

Police personnel rushed to the spot following the explosion. The nature of the explosive device could not be ascertained yet.

No terrorist group has claimed responsibility.
