What else is a lawless city?

To nail the lie that Mumbai is a safe city, constantly repeated by Mumbai’s commissioner of police, read this report from India Today:

Mumbai Police said that Qasim Bangali, the main accused in the Mumbai gangrape case confessed that he and his gang had raped four other women in the last one year at the same spot where 22-year-old photojournalist was gangraped.

In the previous incidents no cases were registered as the victims were threatened by this gang, the Mumbai Police revealed.

Also, [the] gang [used] to harass women and couples coming to Shakti Mills quite often.

In a well-policed and safe city, four survivors of rape do not fear to report the crime to the police. In a well-policed and safe city, the perpetrators of such crimes do not mark out a territory where others fear to come. In a well-policed and safe city it does not take the rape of a journalist to get the police to act against known criminals.

A police force which allows small crimes to flourish unchecked acts against the people.
